How to install Office
Follow the installation steps for your Office edition and license type.
Identify the actual license edition
Office LTSC Professional Plus and Standard are volume-license products for eligible organizations. A working key or consumer Microsoft account is not the required entitlement. Check your documentation first.
Check your installation
Confirm the operating system, version and architecture of any existing Office components. Incompatible installation types can cause problems. Back up settings before making changes.
Use the authorized download route
Retail Office follows its own Microsoft account redemption flow. For Office LTSC, an authorized organization administrator should use the official Office Deployment Tool with the correct licensed configuration.
Follow the right activation method
Online and phone-assisted offers are different. Use the method shown on your product page and authorized by your license agreement. For volume products this may involve an organization’s MAK or KMS infrastructure. Never use third-party activation scripts or shared unauthorized activation services.
