Activation and licensing are different
Successful activation is a technical step. It does not, by itself, prove that a license was lawfully acquired, may be transferred or covers your use. A valid offer needs the right entitlement, applicable terms and supporting documentation.
Retail licenses
Retail products follow the relevant retail terms. Device limits, account requirements and transfer rights depend on the exact product. Do not assume every digital key is a retail license.
OEM licenses
OEM licenses can be tied to the original device and have distinct supply and transfer conditions. They must not be described as freely transferable retail licenses.
Volume licensing
Office Professional Plus and Windows Server require the corresponding licensing entitlement. Education editions require an eligible education licensing basis. Eligible use and a documented entitlement are required. A MAK or KMS key alone does not grant an end-user license.
One-time does not mean everything forever
The licensed version may be used under its terms, while vendor security support follows a separate lifecycle. Future versions, subscriptions and cloud services are excluded unless expressly stated.
Our release standard
The license channel, documentary supply basis and US resale/activation eligibility must be reviewed before an offer is enabled. If a supplier cannot establish those rights, the product should not be sold.
