Install and activate Windows
Choose the installer for your Windows version and activate the matching edition.
Check your PC and your edition
Open Settings → System → About to identify your installed edition and device specifications. Windows 11 requires compatible hardware, TPM 2.0 and UEFI Secure Boot capability. A key does not bypass system requirements.
Back up before making changes
Save your files and recovery information. Installation or edition changes can affect apps, settings and data. If your existing Windows installation is already activated, check whether you actually need another license.
Download directly from Microsoft
Use the official Microsoft download route for the Windows version you purchased. Choose the matching installation media or ISO. Install the exact edition your license covers: Home and Pro keys are different.
Activate the matching edition
Open Settings → System → Activation → Change product key. Enter the key for your edition and follow the prompts. Account sign-in and internet access may be needed. Keep the purchase record and license documents.
